More Than We Remember by Christina Suzann Nelson

When Addison Kilbourn's husband is involved in a car accident that leaves a woman dead, her perfectly constructed life crumbles apart. With her husband's memory of that night gone and the revelation of a potentially life-altering secret, Addison has to reevaluate all she thought she knew. Emilia Cruz is a deputy bearing a heavy burden far beyond the weight of her job. After a traumatic brain injury, her husband is no longer the man she married, and Emilia's determined to prevent others from facing the same hardship. When she's called to the scene of an accident pointing to everything she's fighting against, she's determined to see justice for those wronged. Brianne Demanno is hiding from reality. When her neighbors, the Kilbourns, are thrown into crisis, Brianne's solitary life is disrupted and she finds herself needed in a way she hasn...

Saints by Addison D. Bevere

he Bible uses the word  Christian  to describe followers of Jesus a grand total of three times. But there's another identifier that fills the pages of the New Testament--a word we've mistakenly reserved for the halo-wearing elite, losing something profound in the process. Saints . Wrapped in this ancient word is a divine invitation to discover who God created you to be and awaken to the life you were meant to know. Using Scripture and stories from his own experience, Addison Bevere makes a compelling case that the life you desire is found in the mystery of this sacred identity. I found this book by Addison Bevere thoughtful, challenging and timely. I heard Bevere interviewed on a few podcasts I listen too and I was really intrigued by what I heard and I was excited to read his book when I was given the chance. I appreciated his deep look at scripture, his personal stories and his candid reflection on his own life and growth. I liked that this is a book that I could share w...

Joash's 9th Birthday

We had a great time celebrating Joash's birthday. He requested a Lego logo cake.   Oma and Opa came for coffee time and we had gifts and cake. So many great gifts for Joash. He was pretty pleased with all of them. We also went swimming in the afternoon and pretty much had the pool to ourselves. The life guards still opened the water slide for a little while, so that was pretty awesome. Both Joash and Mataya were brave enough to go down the slide by themselves for the first time. Then we headed to Boston Pizza a the request of the birthday boy. He gave it a big thumbs up!  And he was pretty thrilled with his first experience with a free birthday dessert and song from the wait staff. It was a fun day!

Stretched Too Thin by Jessica N. Turner

As a working mom you can often feel like you're living stretched too thin. You want to thrive personally and professionally, but the day-to-day responsibilities and mental load can make that feel impossible. While periods of busyness are normal, if life feels overwhelming, it's time for a reset. And this book can help you do that. When I was asked if I wanted to have a copy of this book for review, I jumped at the opportunity. I am not a working mom in the traditional sense of the word. But as a the wife of dairy farmer, it does mean that my life is different from a traditional stay at home mom, too. My husband works crazy long hours and pretty much everything household and kid related falls on my shoulders. And I have started teaching part time again. So, there are days where I feel like am working more than a full time job without stepping out of my house. So, I was curious to see what from this book I could take away and apply to my life as a less than traditional workin...
