Wilbert's Most Successful Hunting Trip All Week

"Denise, I am going to tell you something and you might not like," says my husband to me while I was getting ready this morning.

"Okay," I replied with a great amount of hesitation.

"You might want to stay in the bathroom a while. There is a mouse in our kitchen."

And that is how our morning began. Wilbert tried for a while to get the mouse, but to no avail. It eventually ran into a cupboard that pretty much stands by itself, so Wilbert did his best to seal it off. We had no mouse traps in our house, since this is the first mouse we have ever had in the four years we have lived here. We had to go to school, so we would buy some mouse traps on our way home again.

Wilbert got home first since I had to get groceries. By the time I returned, the traps were set, but no mouse had been caught. So, we started to put groceries away and clean up the mouse poop and stuff. Wilbert moved our wheat flour canister and there he was!

After some chasing and almost sucking the mouse up the vacuum, Wilbert managed to chase the mouse into one of the traps and it was done for.
"Good thing I have a small game license," said the successful hunter.

In the Corn

Mataya got to go with her daddy to check on the corn. It will be ready to harvest soon! They decided to take some pictures. Mataya was so excited, she forgot to let daddy be in the picture. There we go. I thought this was sweet picture of a girl and her daddy.

American Thanksgiving

One nice thing about being from two different countries is that we can celebrate more holidays. And since there are a few more people from the states here, last night we had our own American Thanksgiving feast. There were six couples and all of the wives and two of the husbands were from the States. So the Americans out numbered the Canadians, which doesn't happen very often. And we had a feast. There was turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans, bread, stuffing and three different kinds of pies for dessert and a pumpkin cake. It was wonderful. And the fellowship was great too. The hosts said there was no assigned seating, so the ladies all sat together at one of the table and guys at the other. It was funny how it worked out, but we had great conversations full of laughter. It was a great way to celebrate a holiday. Hopefully we have started our own tradition here.
